At
Knit's End:
Meditations
for Women Who Knit Too Much
by
Stephanie Pearl-McPhee
Attention
all BLOG Readers! Don't know what a blogger is? Blogger,
a coined word created by Pyra Labs, is a service that provides
Web-based tools used by individuals to publish to the Web.
It is now also a word generally used to refer to someone
who blogs. And guess what craft seems to attract a lot of
wonderful blogs? Knitters!! Wonderful, funny, self deprecating
knitters!
One
of the most popular knitting BLOGs is authored by Stephanie
Pearl-McPhee, a.k.a., The
Yarn Harlot. The site is delightful as she keeps everyone
entertained with her writings of yarn, needles, projects,
kids, husband and knitting in general.
The
site, started in January 2004 became so renowned that she
was approached by a publisher and now has a book out this
month called "At Knit's End". Each page is a "Quote"
followed by her musing as related to knitting and her resolutions.
The musings are fun and so often hit home to fellow knitters.
Example: "You know you knit too much when your spouse
likes to play a little game with guests. He calls it 'What
do you think is in here?' and opens every cupboard, chest,
drawer and closet in the house to reveal your yarn stash."
Check
out her website and her book - you will be grinning from
ear to ear.
Respectfully
submitted,
Robin
