The first evening meetings began during the first year. We had two meetings each month for several years - a day and an evening group.

The Guild Library was established in January, 1987 with materials donated by a member/yarnshop owner when she closed her shop.

The first library exhibit was displayed at the Thornhill Library in November, 1987. A picture of this display appeared in the Post-Dispatch and inspired dozens of calls inquiring about the Guild.

The first contest was held in Spring, 1989. A second one was held approximately two years later.

Tote bags printed with the Guild logo were made available in Fall, 1987.  Lands End tote bags with our updated logo were introduced Spring 2005.

The first local workshop was held in 1990. Members of the Guild taught. The first visiting teacher workshop was held in the Spring, 1994 presenting Sandra Beadle.

Our first Knit-Out was held in conjunction with the Faust Park Folk Festival in September 2004.

Guild Presidents are elected for 2 year terms.

Charter Members: Approximately 22 Charter Members (who joined the Guild during our first six to eight months) are still current members.

In February, 2008, we set up a Greater St Louis Knitters' Guild Ravelry Group on Ravelry - a knit and crochet community

In May 2008, membership totaled 419 members!

In March 2010, we set up a PayPal option to pay dues!
