St. Louis Knitters' Guild Spring 2010 Workshops with Judy
Pascale will be held Friday March 19, 2010 to Sunday March
21, 2010 at the Drury
Inn near Forest Park, at 2111 Sulphur Avenue, St. Louis,
MO 63139 (Hampton/44 area)
You must be a GSLKG member to attend workshops. Send your
form and check(s) by February 26, 2010 for best chance in
the lottery. You will be notified by March 5th of
your registration.

ALL of Judy's classes are
suitable for any level knitter. Beginners as well as advanced
knitters will learn from Judy and her excellent teaching
abilities. You will learn something valuable in each and
every class. Don't be fearful if you're a beginner, and
enjoy if you're more advanced
- We
have THREE days of classes this time!
- Free
Friday night lecture/reception for GLSKG members (you
may bring one guest)
- Make
it a mini-retreat! Call the Drury Inn at 314-646-0770
and ask for the "knitters' block" rate ($99
per night), swim in the pool, hang out with other knitters!

Rott Road in St. Louis County, near Interstate 44 and Lindbergh
Boulevard. April 3, 2010 Gallery talk at 1:00
with the artist, then join GSLKG to knit in the park or
gallery after the talk!

Our Spring 2010 knitter's retreat will be held Friday through
Sunday May 14-16, 2010 at
Cedar Creek Conference
Center, New Haven, MO. Non-members welcome.
- Starting
the 2010 retreat, the retreat will no longer be handled
through the guild treasurer. Connie Kukal
at Knit and
Caboodle has taken over as retreat coordinator
and registration/checks will be mailed directly to Connie
at her shop. Check
back later this year for a link to the retreat form on
her website.

2009 GSLKG
member yarnshop had a retreat at Lake
Williamson Christian Conference Center, Carlinville,
IL (75 miles from Metro St. Louis and a sister facility
to Cedar Creek Conference Center). Check back in 2010.

Sheep & Wool Festival in West Friendship, MD
is always held the first full weekend in May, this year
it was May 2-3, 2009. Check their Website

Heart
of America Sheep Show & Fiber Fest (sponsored
by the MO Natural
Colored Wool Growers Assoc.) was held at the
Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia, MO on May 30, 31
and June 1, 2008. Classes and fiber market.
Admission to the show is free (there is a charge for classes,
check their website). There will not be a Fest
in 2009, check their website in 2010.
SOXPERIENCE
2008 was held June 14-15, 2008.
Carodan
Farm in Virginia has a weekend of workshops annually called
SoXperience. There will not be a 2009 event, check back

The
Third Annual Midwest Fiber & Folk Art Fair was held
July 17-19, 2009 at McHenry Couny College Campus, 8900 US
Hwy 14, Crystal Lake, IL 60012. Workshops,

ALPACA FARM DAYS wereSeptember 26th & 27th, 2009
guild member Beth Brown hosted National Alpaca Farms Days
at Odelia
Alpaca Farms 8349 Old Lebanon Troy Rd, Troy,
IL 62294 (just East of St. Louis). Demonstrations in dry
felting, spinning and knitting. Her Odelia by Design
display room was set up with multiple vendors. Lots of roving,
yarns and other items for sale. Great stuff, great place,
great time! Hours: Saturday 9-5 and Sunday 10-4. Also
offering hand spun yarn, hand spun and hand knit sweaters,
sweater-jackets, vests and more. Alpaca
